It absolutely is a honey press, purchased in Japan. I bought it through a beekeeping equipment catalog. I had never seen one before either. This is the first time I have used it and it works very well, but it takes more strength to crank down than I thought it would. I got one of the younger graduate students to help me, and at least one person has to hold the bottom part while the other person turns the screw. It looks as though you could press just about anything with it. I’m thinking about doing apples next.
Is that a home brew honey press? Never seen something like that before.
